3d Piping Designers

Company: PM Group    Location: Birmingham
As a 3D Piping Designer you will be part of a multi-disciplined engineering design team with a focus on provided detailed design for piping and equipment across a portfolio of customer projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to not only work on a variety of cutting edge industry/manufacturing projects from pharmaceutical facilities to Biotechnology and Food but the chance to work in an collaborative work environment of cross-discipline professionals and colleagues.

Job Role & Responsibilities

Produce and check complex piping plans and layouts, piping isometrics sketches and electronic 3D models for equipment in accordance with project requirements, codes, specifications and procedures.

Isometric generation from Process P & IDs

Clash checking for pipe clashes.

Designing and drafting of piping/equipment systems using 3D software.

Coordinate with other disciplines as to the design quality such as Building Services, Electrical & Instrumentation & Architecture

Reviewing and validating documentation for technical accuracy prior to issue.

Establish strong working relationships and communication internally amongst peers, management and cross-disciplined teams.

Display a positive and can do attitude to tasks and stakeholders.

Travel as and when required either to site location or other regional PM Group offices.

Requirements & Experience

A HNC or equivalent in related technical / engineering subject (e.g. Mechanical/Piping)

Proven experience and expertise in producing piping plans and layouts, gained with a related sector or market ideally (e.g. Pharmaceutical, Food, Biotechnology, FMCG)

A good working knowledge and understanding of other engineering disciplines for coordinating design purposes (e.g. HVAC, Electrical & Instrumentation)

Strong proficiency with related 3D design/drafting software (including AutoCAD, CADWorx and / or Revit)

Display a quality and right first time approach to design work.

Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplined team.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.
