Events Executive

The Team

Client & Market Development (CMD) encompasses the Marketing, Business Development and Communications teams. They all work together to deliver projects, campaigns and events on behalf of the whole firm.

The Role

The Events Executive will work within the Events team and be responsible for the design and execution of a range of events activities across the Gateley Group for both our legal and non-legal businesses.

Working within the CMD team, the successful candidate will help to design, develop and deliver a range of client and prospect events and hospitality activities in-line with business plans to create brand awareness, generate new business opportunities and support existing client relationships. The successful candidate will work closely with a group of Marketing Executives to support their marketing and campaign plans. This is a national role and will require travel to other offices and so the successful candidate can be based in either our Birmingham or Manchester office.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide proactive support to the firm which will include:

Supporting the wider CMD team with events design, planning and new event idea generation including new event proposals.

Development and management of all event support materials including event invitations where required.

Own our events ROI reporting process, supporting the other Events Executive in preparing and briefing senior members of the Client & Market Development team.

Own the development of events RSVP processes and the EventBrite booking system to ensure all systems (i.e. website, event booking systems) operate effectively and efficiently keeping internal clients up to date.

Support Events Executive in designing and running Group-wide high value hospitality events programme for key clients.

Booking event venues and liaison with venue event teams and internal Client Services team.

Support key events on-site ensuring that all events run smoothly working with local fee earners and CMD representative(s) including all Group Marketing Executives.

Own and co-ordinate the supply of events merchandise and support materials such as gifts, stands and other support materials.

Assisting with the post events analysis including feedback capture and evaluation of ROI.

Assisting with the management of event budgets.

Managing the events calendar for the firm.

To be aware of and comply with the company´s policies and procedures.

Key Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

Ideally, at least 12 months experience of working in a marketing environment and in particular managing and organising events

Educated to degree level or equivalent or a recognised qualification in marketing (CIM)

Events management and hospitality management experience

An understanding of how PR, marketing, BD and digital teams interface

Highly skilled in the use of PowerPoint, Word and Excel to develop documents and presentations for internal and external audiences

Flexible approach to work and working hours

Strong work ethic with a can do attitude

Possess exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to communicate at all levels

Excellent team player and commercial awareness

Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload

Work well under pressure and to tight deadlines

Enthusiastic and sociable

Commercial awareness

Experience within a professional/financial services environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
