Business Continuity And Risk Manager

Salary: £33,327 - £36,225 per annum, pro rata

We are seeking to enhance the Planning & Performance team, which incorporates a number of planning specialists and intelligence analysts, through the appointment of a Business Continuity and Risk Manager.

At an exciting time of ongoing change in the Higher Education sector, the region and the institution, this post will play a critical part in helping the University to position itself to optimise opportunities and minimise exposure to risks. In particular, we are seeking to complement the teams existing skillset through the appointment of an individual who will bring capability, expertise and additional drive to the teams work in risk management and business continuity planning.

The required candidate will be well organised and self-motivated, with a background in business continuity and risk management (ideally in a complex organisation). They will have excellent planning, organisational and analytical ability, as well as good networking, negotiating and influencing skills and the tact and diplomacy necessary to work closely with senior leaders and external stakeholders. Their communication skills must enable them to be able to relay incident management and business continuity arrangements to a wide range of staff, potentially whilst in a pressured situation.Educated to degree level (or equivalent), they will have the ability both to work effectively on their own and as part of a team. They will need to be able to assimilate and analyse new and complex information from a variety of sources quickly and to develop innovative solutions. In all cases they will be able to present their conclusions and recommendations concisely and clearly to both expert and lay audiences, to effect action and improvement, including at the highest levels of the University.
