Assistant Manager

Salary: £37,500 + 15% + pension

An exciting opportunity has come about with one of our Rail clients who are looking to bring on board x3 Assistant Contract Managers to support the management and delivery of a large portfolio contracts. You will be working on the growing portfolio of contracts on the largest high speed rail project in Europe making it a great opportunity for any individual looking to enhance their career.

The purpose of the role is to manage the contracts following the award through to completion of the contract. You will also provide the contracts manager with support on the larger based contracts giving a cradle to grave management. As a client side opportunity you will be building and maintaining strong relationships with your suppliers in order to complete requirements within time, standard and budget; making this a great opportunity to develop your skills on a high profile client side opportunity.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in compiling documents for compliance checks against contracts
  • Assist in the production of contract management plans for each contract
  • Assist the Contract manager you will be reporting in to with their duties of consolidating a portfolio of contracts with a combined value of £60 m
  • To make each stage of the contract achieve value for money
  • Make sure that all suppliers are reaching their KPI´s
Experience required:
This is a client side role working in a public regulated environment. As such the successful candidate will have worked in either the public sector or have experience working in the private sector which is publically regulated. Transferrable industries are welcome and Rail experience is not mandatory. Knowledge of CCS, NEC, public and government based contracts would be a great advantage

  • Experience working in a commercial or assistant contracts concerning corporate contracts
  • Knowledge of contract KPI´s and performance measures
  • Knowledge of procurement lifestyle and stages
  • Experience with a good range of programmes and software (Excel, SAP, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Project)
  • Knowledge of different forms of contract and risk allocation
