Customer Claims Handler

By joining the Claims team, you will be working directly with customers and key clients and delivering exceptional customer service. You will manage your own caseload, whilst delivering excellent service to close the claim within specified guidelines.
The purpose of this role is to investigate, negotiate and settle claims within the agreed authority level, in accordance with company and regulatory requirements whilst providing a high standard of customer service. You will also be providing support, guidance and training to less experienced team members/trainees and other team members as required. Other responsibilities will include:
Liaising with Underwriters where necessary and ensuring the applications of appropriate clauses, endorsements and conditions etc.

Handling claims proactively in accordance within the agreed authority level to deliver a high quality claims service

Ensuring claims are correctly reserved and are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines

Paying valid claims ensuring the proper application of policy limits and excesses

Handling allocated internal tasks, such as: inactivity and diaries, ensuring that all tasks are dealt with within applicable time limits progressing the customer element of the claim to a prompt settlement.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous telephony and customer service experience is essential - Full technical training will be given
  • Insurance experience is essential
  • You will have a ´can do´ attitude, flexible approach, passion about doing a good job, the ability to work to daily targets and the ability to demonstrate that you are a team player.
