The Faculty of Environment and Technology is seeking a Nanomaterial Biosensor Project Technician for a full time, 12 month, fixed term role.
You will provide technical support to the Institute of Bio-sensing Technology team members for development of new sensors for an externally funded project including performing a range of laboratory experiments and recording and presenting results.
This role requires skills and experience in one or more of the following subject areas Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics or Engineering.
You must have experience of both developing immunological/diagnostic assays and modifying methods and materials to suit requirements.
You must be able to communicate specific technical techniques clearly to various audiences and manage your own time well in a busy technical environment. You should have an enthusiastic, proactive and innovative approach to the learning environment and you should be IT literate with experience of extracting, manipulating data to produce reports.
You must be aware of the Health and Safety requirements associated with supporting users in a laboratory environment.
A degree, technical qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline will be required.
