The Route Contracts & Procurement (C&P) team provides a pre and post contract management service to Route Businesses which consist of Asset Management, Maintenance and Operational Team. The team works collaboratively with Finance and Project Managers within Works Delivery to deliver works and services for the Wales Route.
About the role (External)
The 13-month placement is a key position within a busy team and during your time in the role you can expect to be exposed to all aspects of the Commercial and Procurement activities undertaken by Network Rail. The role will allow you to expand your knowledge in preparation for a career within procurement and/or quantity surveying.
You will typically be involved in the following: Engage with the Asset Management Team for new contract requirements and tenders
Raising requisitions for payment of works
Publish tender opportunities to suppliers via Bravo Software
Maintaining & Updating the Contract Database
Evaluate Quotes and Payment Applications
Assisting the Preparation of Tender Documents

You will have the opportunity to gain transferable skills, including:
Full-Training on widely used software systems i.e. Bravo & Oracle
Progress Meetings with Suppliers or Stakeholders
A student between your second and third year of a Procurement/Supply Chain or Project Management Surveying degree?
We would expect you to be computer-literate, although full-training will be given for bespoke systems
Do you have?
Strong organisation and time management skills
Good verbal and written interpersonal skills
