About the role

Bodily Injury sits within Claims our largest department. Your job will be to handle claims from people whove been injured in car accidents and help them claim compensation. Youll negotiate with their representatives (usually lawyers) to ensure they get a fair settlement. This is an interesting and varied job that is vitally important to our business as youll be dealing with significant sums of money. Some aspects can be very technical so youll need good attention to detail and well give you lots of training and support to help you along the way.

The programme starts with an intensive 6 month training scheme, which involves 8 weeks spent across different areas of Claims getting to grips with the Claims journey and our business. Youll then move into the Bodily Injury department and will spend the remaining 16 weeks training specifically for your new role in the department. By the end of the training period youll be ready to manage your own caseload of claims and will be supported by both a senior and your team manager throughout.

Youll be given a caseload of files which youll manage right through to settlement. Each case will require you to establish whos at fault for the accident, investigating it more forensically if required, and then youll look at the claim being made by the injured person, negotiating with their representatives over the phone, in writing and even face-to-face in certain complex cases. Our aim is to settle every claim fairly and economically whilst ensuring all our customers receive an excellent service throughout.

Bodily injury claims can be very expensive and the performance of the department has a key impact on Admiral as a whole. Were also affected by external factors including new laws, judicial decisions and the different strategies employed by our opponents so its an exciting and evolving area, where even the most experienced people understand the need to continue learning. Youll get all the training you need and be constantly supported as you start making your first decisions on real cases. Theres a clear promotional structure within the department and plenty of opportunity for progression, providing you continue to learn and challenge yourself. All our promotions are based on merit and are filled internally.

As your experience and ability grows, so the exposure and opportunities increase. Youll have the chance to get out of the office and attend court hearings, inquests, investigations and seminars. Youll also work with our own experts, our panel of lawyers and some of the best minds in the business to do the best job possible for us and for our customers.

What we need from you
