An opportunity has arisen for a Multiskills Teacher to work within the School of Construction on a sessional basis. In this key role you will deliver the following courses:
Level 1 Construction Skills
Level 2 Maintenance Ops - apprentices
Principle responsibilities in this role would be to meet the needs of the student and the examining/validating body in liaison with the Programme Leader. You will motivate, encourage and monitor students to ensure that they achieve their full potential and maximise the career opportunities from the qualifications they gain whilst at Coventry College.
You will teach on Level 1 BTEC Construction programmes and Maintenance operations level 2.
You must have a background in Brickwork but with a range of general construction skills to work within the Multi-skills curriculum. Skills in bricklaying and plastering would be an advantage.
You should be someone who enjoys working with young people with a desire to pass on your skills and knowledge.
You will need to demonstrate a good understanding and knowledge of the Construction industry, and hold relevant Health & Safety qualifications.
The successful candidate must have:
A relevant vocational qualification at Level 3 or above
Level 2 qualification in Maths and English (or be willing to work towards during the probationary period)
Level 5 teaching qualification (DET/DTTLS/PCGE) or Level 3 with a willingness to work towards Level 5
Have experience of working in an FE or similar environment
