Land Manager

This team is responsible for identifying and sourcing the best locations for new developments. Its fast moving and, in todays climate, extremely competitive and commercial in its focus.

While we need to be commercial and competitive in bidding for sought after land, we also need to be imaginative in identifying other possibilities such as land that currently doesnt have planning permission. Its a complex area of our work, and one thats under intense commercial scrutiny and pressure. Its also the lifeblood of our business, which makes this teams work even more vital and far-reaching. Entrepreneurial and imaginative in your thinking, youll need to be a good assessor of risks, and an even better relationship builder.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

A qualified land professional, with a minimum of 3 years experience, knowledge of the East Scotland market place and first-class contacts. You will be well-versed in all the sales, commercial, technical, design and legal aspects of land purchase. More than that though, youll have the business acumen and innovative mind needed to spot development opportunities that others may have overlooked. A skilled negotiator and networker, youll also have the influencing skills to drive deals through and to keep us in front throughout the land appraisal and bid process.

WHAT WLL I BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Delivery of major complex residential schemes up to detailed planning consent

Sourcing and securing of new land opportunities, both on and off market, including short to medium term options

Engaging with local communities and local authorities in pre-planning application discussions

Liaising with registered social landlords to deliver affordable housing

Managing an existing portfolio of projects/opportunities
