The company is a global leading manufacturer of liquid handling robotics and laboratory automation. Their instruments are used in cell biology, genomics, proteomics, drug discovery, analytical chemistry, molecular diagnostics, and immunodiagnostics. With a market leading presence, they now have an exciting opportunity to join their team as the Field Service Engineer for Scotland and the North of England.
Your primary responsibility is the installation, preventative maintenance, and repair of laboratory automation systems.
This position is home based in Scotland, with travel 3 4 days a week across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Newcastle and the surrounding areas.
Customers include pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academia, hospitals, food & beverage, as well as other industries.
Working alongside the sales, support and service team in the UK.
Full training is given on the instruments.
Educated in an engineering field is preferred; Electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics, or related field.
Experience of installing, maintaining and repairing high tech instruments is essential Laboratory instruments, medical equipment, diagnostics equipment, automation.
Ability to work independently, with natural ability and interest to solve problems.
Excellent communication skills are essential.
You may have experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Technician, Technical Support Specialist, or similar.
