Relief Support Worker - Youthzone

About Our Service

Youthzone is a social support service for four to eight young
people with additional support needs, aged between 10-16 years
living in Edinburgh. Operating one day at the weekend, young people
will engage in building-based and community activities to develop
self-help and social skills, and at the same time building a
social/peer group.

Do you want to make a real difference to people´s
lives?

We are looking to recruit exceptional and experienced Support
Workers to work as part of our team to provide a safe, caring
environment for children with disabilities. You will also provide
support for the service users with aspects of their general
welfare. You will be required to undertake a key working role and
assist the Team Leader to maximise customer outcomes.

The role may involve a degree of physical activity, which may
include pushing wheelchairs, providing physical support to our
customers including personal care (intimate care). The role
may also involve health related practices including mealtime
assistance and administration of medication where required.

Ideally, you will be able to work a maximum of two
Saturdays (9.30am to 2pm) in every month.

Key Requirements

Experience of working in a similar role and environment

Willingness to undertake any personal development
opportunities.

A care related SVQ Level 3 (or the willingness to gain this
qualification in a given timescale).

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to work as part of a team and on your own
initiative.

Able and willing to work flexible shifts at the weekends.
