We´ll look to you to lead the development of our economic scenario generation methodology for stress testing and IFRS9 purposes
What you´ll do
You´ll apply rigorous quantitative methods to develop robust approaches to setting scenario severity and probability. You´ll build, maintain and develop the models required to support scenario generation. We´ll look to you to engage with colleagues, regulators, consultants and auditors on scenario methodology.
In this role, you´ll:
Apply cutting edge statistical and econometric techniques to develop our economic scenario generation methodology for stress testing and IFRS9 purposes
Implement tools and solutions in Excel, SAS or R environments
Drive improvements to our methodology through stress testing and model governance
Engage with regulators, consultants and auditors to use best practice techniques
Communicate with a wide variety of internal stakeholders to explain methodologies and results
Contribute to wider projects relating to the banks risk appetite, capital and strategy, and use these tools and techniques to generate insights for the banks management and board
Develop a network of relationships with stakeholders across the bank
The skills you´ll need
To succeed in this role, you´ll need experience of working with IFRS 9 and stress testing. As a successful candidate, you´ll likely be working in a regulatory authority type role or Prudential Regulation Authority, within the Bank of England.
It is expected you´ll be able to show you have postgraduate quantitative qualifications.
You´ll also show:
Evidence you´ve worked within a technical capacity in capital or stress teams within the bank
Outstanding technical skills across econometrics, statistics or mathematics
An ability to work in programming environments such as excel, SAS or R
The capability to explain sophisticated technical concepts to non-specialists
Strong communication skills and an ability to build networks
Experience of stress testing or IFRS9 at a financial institution or regulator
