Payroll Assistant

Purpose of the Role

Working within the Accounts team, the successful applicant will provide a core payroll function, essential for providing effective payroll and pension processing. They will be responsible for all aspects of payroll and pension administration for both salaried and hourly paid staff, this involves the full payroll cycle, as detailed below. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills to be able to respond to employee queries efficiently and effectively. This role is on a part time on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the following:

  • Complete payroll processing for Rettie in a timely and accurate manner on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for accurate inputting of payroll information into reconciliations
  • Collate monthly reporting
  • Assist in processing of end of year P60s and payroll reporting
  • Pension processing and payments
  • Ensuring comprehensive payroll records are kept, both paper and electronic
  • Answering queries from employees
  • Improving the efficiency of our financial systems and processes while ensuring alignment with our clients interests.

Experience & Skills

  • Experience in payroll department
  • Understanding of payroll and pension regulation
  • Numerate
  • The ability to demonstrate an organised approach to administration with close attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently is essential, as well as part of a team
