We now have a vacancy for a Support Worker to join our Edinburgh Young Person´ s Service within the Positive Transitions Project based in Leith. The position is part-time working in the evenings and provides an on-call service on two to three evenings per week.
With some experience of youth work and working with hard to reach young people along with Housing Support experience, you will have a track record of inspiring and motivating people you support.
You will offer practical, emotional and social support to people in their own homes to assist them to maintain their tenancy.
You will need to develop effective relationships with service users supporting them to cope with their lives in a positive and independent way so that they can make informed choices and take responsibility for their actions.
A significant part of the role involves using technology to help deliver the best service we can to the people we support. You will embrace technology by using LinkLiving´s IT equipment to help drive efficiency and provide a quality assured service. You will be given a Google Chrome Book and SmartPhone to access our integrated care system (Carista) to create support plans and risk assessments, record support, monitor outcomes and gain feedback from service users.
This post requires you to work some shifts and sleepovers over 5/7 days per week, as it will cover both the Visiting Support service and the Care Leavers project at Bonnington Road.

Willingness to work towards and achieve an appropriate qualification recognised by SSSC
Ability to build equal and positive relationships with people
Demonstrate an understanding of working with people to include them and tackle exclusion
Flexible, practical and reliable approach
