Market Team Leader

Head of International Market Team

As a Barclays Head of International Market Team in Premier Global Clients,
you will lead the distribution team to deliver the growth strategy for their region (Africa, Middle East and Europe). You will lead, coach and develop International Relationship Managers to deliver business performance, through driving a world class culture and maintaining sound risk management for their market. A key element of the role will be to develop a robust and effective business plan to ensure that the team contribution is aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the Premier International business.

As an Head of International Market Team your main responsibilities will involve:
  • Delivering first rate leadership practices across the team, whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk management parameters. You will be required to travel to London on 2-3 occasions per month
  • Leading by example to encourage an environment where colleagues feel empowered to do the right thing, ask questions and share their views openly, helping to contribute to a ‘best in class’ culture
  • Supporting the team through talent management, evidenced by continuously evolving and growing the talent pool from within Premier International and across Barclays
  • Demonstrating an understanding and ownership of your personal development plan by preparing for 1-1s and development conversations in advance, developing self-insight to shape your development journey
  • Influencing Premier International colleagues, who in turn demonstrate high levels of engagement and low levels of absence and regretted attrition
  • Demonstrating the importance of coaching ethos and techniques, which will be used daily as part of your commitment to understanding and supporting colleague development
  • As an Head of International Market Team , your skills and qualifications will include:
  • Previous relationship management experience within Financial Services in a commercial, wealth or international team
  • Experience in successfully managing large teams – with the ability to empower people and develop your own skill sets from a leadership perspective
  • Experience with coaching and inspiring others, with the ability to drive commercial success
  • Strong leadership skills to inspire and energise your team and the ability to evidence a strong track record of high performance
  • The ability to work remotely, whilst influencing peers
  • Flexibility to do fly outs to International offices with the Relationship Managers
