We are looking for an individual to join our Technical Team. The post holder will be required to work as part of a team and assist in the efficient and effective provision of venue, stage, LX and technical support for all relevant aspects of the technical, production, room space and event activities within Theatre and Halls.
The successful candidate will join the service at an exciting time with Hull still very much in the spotlight having been awarded the UK City of Culture in 2017 and will play a key role in Hull New Theatres future as a world-class venue which re-opened in September 2017 following major refurbishment.
The post is key to assisting in the following duties across the technical department, get-ins, fit-ups, rigging, flying, room set up, get-outs and operating lighting board, mixer desk and follow spots during rehearsals and performances as required. You will be expected to work together with visiting companies to ensure safe preparation, operation and maintenance of technical equipment.
Compliance with relevant Health and Safety Legislation and Licensing regulations is essential. You will be also required to provide excellent customer care and support to all visiting companies and clients.
Applicants will be self-motivated, hold a relevant technical qualification or demonstrable practical experience in entertainment and theatres technical provision in at least two of the following: lighting, sound, audio-visual, stage and venue fit-up, rigging, and counterweight flying systems. Practical skills are a must including working at heights and manual handling. Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work regular evenings and weekends is essential.
