Purchasing Assistant

Our flagship store is based out of a beautiful warehouse in East London and our head office hub is in Leeds City Centre. The brand has an ambitious growth strategy, including opening additional retail stores across the UK and overseas, as well as further expanding its core product range and creating a leading retail e-commerce site. The Purchasing Assistant will enjoy working within a fast-paced and exciting environment dealing with clients, supplier and Carriers/freight providers on a day-to-day basis.

The Purchasing Assistant will be working within a motivated and dedicated team become part of an expanding and progressive company. They will have exciting opportunities for future career progression throughout the company as the department expands. To apply for the Purchasing Assistant position, you must have previous purchasing experience gained within a professional environment and you must be able to deal with a busy and sometimes pressurised environment. The Purchasing Assistant must also have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with business customers through written and verbal methods. The Purchasing Assistant must also have a high level of attention to detail, being able to enter data accurately and quickly.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To place purchase orders with suppliers using the stock system and buying guidelines
  • Dealing with orders from receipt through to completion
  • Ensure product SKUs are listed and set up correctly on the system
  • Adhering to strict timescales to meet production requirements.
  • Continually seek to reduce procurement costs to improve company profit margins.
  • Working with UK and overseas suppliers
  • Dealing with customer queries over telephone and email
  • Previous experience within a similar role is essential
  • Full driving licence and own vehicle is essential

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Salary: £17,000.00 to £18,000.00 /year
