About the CICs

The IBM Client Innovation Centre (CIC) is looking for forward thinking and enthusiastic individuals to work as interns within our dynamic and rapidly expanding organisation. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with the members of the management team to progress a number of initiatives to improve process and use of best practice within the CIC.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • perform repeatable tasks including; auditing timesheet records, meeting minutes, facilitation of actions lists and provide support for the CIC management team
  • undertake and roll out new initiatives to set up and change processes within the CIC
  • inputting to a team on ideas
  • designing and producing draft documentation

About You

This internship is open to applicants currently in their first or penultimate year of university study, applicants who have recently graduated (within 12 months) or individuals who have recently completed a college/ school course (A level or equivalent) and would like to gain work experience. Ideal candidates will have:

Undergraduate applicants; expected minimum 2:1 degree, preferably but not limited to; Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths or Computer Science.

School/ college leaver applicants; expected minimum grade C in 3 A Levels (or equivalent), preferably but not limited to; Science, Maths or English.

This is an ideal role for someone who has:

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external colleagues at all levels
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Problem solving skills
  • Creative thinking and idea generation
  • Sound IT skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Flexibility to occasional travel to our centres across the UK.

Candidates will also display:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the IT sector and marketplace,
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexible approach to work and a ´can do´ attitude
  • The aptitude to rapidly acquire new skills
  • Drive and enthusiasm
  • Pro-active ownership of own workload and ability to work with little supervision;
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced professional work environment;
