About the role

Our user experience (UX) function is critical to our plans and weve built a state of the art UX lab at our purpose built head office in Liverpool. We now deliver between 70 and 100 experiments per month something were really proud of. But were not satisfied with that, we know there is so much more to do and so much more to achieve. Thats why were looking for the very best UX talent available to help ensure our customers have the best online journey when they shop with us that they can.
We´re looking for a User Experience Designer to deliver a fantastic experience for our customers whilst ensuring the key commercial objectives of our business are met. We know thats not easy and achieving that balance of priorities will be a critical part of this role. You´ll help design solutions for and be a part of critical e-Commerce projects with an aim of improving user experience and website performance. You´ll work closely with the wider UX team, engaging with the eCommerce function and wider business designing best in class solutions, ensuring the user is kept in mind at all times.
As a truly agile team, weve created Product Squads and with your expertise, youll specifically cross over to our core areas, that being Product Checkout, Product Pages, Basket and our Search teams. As a user experience designer on an Agile team youll be expected to design the end-to-end experience for a product pulling on expertise from related areas. Collaboratively youll the plan change and improve the experience for our customers. This is our main focus. To accomplish this, as a squad you must understand the business goals and user needs, and collaborate with each member of the team and to create the best user experience. UXDs here are responsible for research, wireframe creation, task analysis, creating prototypes, and UX testing.
This is a critical role within our business so we need someone thats got prior experience of being a User Experience Designer, ideally with eCommerce experience, and has a solid understanding of design, layout and frameworks. Wireframing, rapid prototyping and journey mapping should all be familiar concepts and you will need to be able to display the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of business. Of most importance will be your ability to influence commercial decisions by being the voice of the customer, ensuring that customer experience is at the centre of all commercial decisions. To be successful you´ll need to embrace the challenge, enjoy the fast pace and be excited by the prospect of playing a significant part in our journey.
