Job Title Debt Collection Agencies & Debt Suppliers Audit Manager

Barclays are recruiting for a permanent Debt collection Agencies & Debt Suppliers Audit Manager which is a BA4 level role, one corporate grade below Assistant Vice President level.

Working as part of the External Relations Team, the Audit Manager role will involve travel between both Barclays sites in Kirkby and Manchester and off site locations.

The role holder will be responsible for completing Audit activities involving Customer Outcome testing framework, including identifying possible customer detriment, managing remediation of issues & completing reporting documentation & thematic reviews. These Suppliers & third parties work in relation to debt recoveries and will involve reviewing their policies and procedures in relation to internal Policy & industry regulations such as financial conduct authority, Office of Communication & Lending standards board requirements. This role covers reviewing all Products our Suppliers service under Barclays Financial Assistance (Barclays, Barclaycard, Business Partner Finance & Barclays Commercial Payments)

Being confident with both verbal and written communication you will be understanding and interpreting both Barclays and third party policies. You will be expected to have attention to detail and have a proactive and organised manner to drive things forward.

Your Role

  • To ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Barclays Operational Risk Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Standards.
  • To be the face of compliance across our portfolio landscape for Barclays Financial Assistance when interacting with Debt Collection Agencies & Debt Purchasers.
  • To monitor legal, regulatory, contractual and policy compliance of debt collection agencies and debt purchasers ensuring that the reputational & regulatory risk to Barclays is managed and mitigated.
  • Monitoring adherence of Suppliers to Financial conduct authority, Office of Communication, Lending Standards Board and any other legal, regulatory or policy requirements.
  • Communicate all Audit findings confidently & effectively (written & verbal) providing an accurate visibility of Customer Outcome environment to a range of stakeholders at various levels.
  • The role holder will be required to produce regular detailed Audit & Control Dashboards and MI providing the status of Audit effectiveness to various stakeholders. This will include updates on action plans/Remediation activity owned by the Supplier.
  • Ability to challenge non-compliant practices and behaviours within the Supplier reviews and ensure these are remediated in a timely fashion.
  • Accurate use of data & findings to articulate potential risks & remediation steps to influence the right outcomes.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in Audit reviews including Control & Risk principles designed to ensure appropriate oversight & adherence to governing bodies & regulations.
  • Experience of managing relationships and effectively engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • In depth Knowledge of industry regulations such as the Lending standards board
  • Proven background in defining and driving a customer focused improvement and controlled culture across our Audit processes ensuring established strategies are appropriate in controlling the risks.

Desirable Skills

  • The right candidate will have a general understanding of the regulatory environment, e.g. Financial conduct authority, Prudential Regulation Authority, Lending standards board and international regulatory requirements required to influence the effective management of risks within an operational environment.
  • Capable of presenting written & verbal updates/well-reasoned ideas, arguments and proposals to stakeholders (including Senior Management) in a positive and confident manner, identifying and utilising the most effective communication channels to the message and audience
