Job Purpose / Summary

At a local level, the North West PHE Centre delivers three core functions of public health: health protection, healthcare public health and health improvement. This role is within the health and wellbeing function. The team is a multi-disciplinary professional team that covers a large and complex geographical area.

The Health and Wellbeing Project Support Manager’s role is to support the health and wellbeing team to deliver a range of projects and initiatives designed to enable the local system to drive health improvement outcomes and reduce health inequalities.

The job purpose is to undertake project management support to coordinate the delivery of high quality, specialist technical and professional public health services to partners in local government and the NHS.

The post holder will take lead responsibility for working on the wider determinants of health in relation to housing and worklessness across the North West.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organised and adaptable with excellent communication skills. They will have substantial experience in a public health role, with a sound knowledge and understanding of health and wellbeing.
