Support Worker

Company: Alternative Futures Group Ltd - Supported Living    Location: Merseyside

We are currently looking to recruit a Female Support Worker in the Toxteth area of Liverpool working 39 Hours per week on a permanent basis.

Female only to meet the needs of the people supported

You will support with all daily living skills to include cooking, shopping, attend appointments

You will work across seven days on a rota including waking night in order to provide 24 hours support

You will be part of a team supporting a number of individuals all with varying interests to include but not restricted to:

  • going for coffee
  • Walking
  • Public transport
  • Singing
  • playing chess.
  • This post is best suited to applicants who would be interested in supporting people within their own home. You will be motivated and have the enthusiasm and drive to support people with mental health/ PD / challenging behaviour issues to enjoy a full and exciting life You will provide individualised support in a positive, non-judgmental and creative way that enables the people we support to make informed choices in their daily lives

Required Skills and Experience

  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Able to use own initiative, and work as part of a team
  • Have the flexibility to work a varied shift pattern to provide 24 hour support Relevant experience is desirable but not essential as full training is provided

Salary and Benefits

Full Time equivalent is based on a 39 hour working week or a monthly equivalent of 169.5 hours

£15,251.83 per annum

This role is a Band I as per our banding structure.

As a key member of our team, you will be offered the opportunity to learn and develop during your time at AFG. Beginning with an extensive Induction Programme, moving to Support Essentials training and where applicable, speciality training in such areas as dementia, autism and epilepsy.

Furthermore, upon successful completion of your probationary period, you will be given the opportunity to study for a vocational qualification relevant to the role you are undertaking via our internal qualifications assessment centre.
