Payroll Administrator

A brand new opportunity has arisen in the Liverpool Head Office for an expert Payroll Administrator to manage the full end to end payroll process for UK wide businesses. Working for this leading Accountancy Firm you will have a varied work load and manage the smooth running of weekly, fortnightly, monthly and director only payrolls. This position is suitable for someone with excellent ability to manually calculate, high attention to detail and an excellent understanding of the payroll function. The position requires someone who is adaptable to managing payrolls for small growing enterprises to large international business as well as the ability to remain calm whilst working to tight deadlines.

As the Payroll Administrator you will be responsible for:
  • To manage a portfolio of client payrolls for small enterprise businesses to large enterprise corporate companies
  • To process different types of manual payroll calculations including weekly, fortnightly, monthly and director only payrolls
  • Ensure that all new starters, leavers and client redundancy payrolls are processed in the correct manner
  • Processes statutory deduction payments including SMP, SPP, SSP, SAP and holiday pay
  • Carry out required tasks for auto-enrolment and company pension scheme enrolment to ensure information is received by the pension providers within the required time frames
  • Processing BACS payment efficiently and on time
  • Calculating tax and national insurance deductions
  • Calculating overtime, bonuses and expenses and manually calculate when required
  • Send all relevant employee forms to HMRC including but not limited to P45s, P46s, P60s, P11Ds
  • Accurately prepare calculations for salary advances for businesses including childcare vouchers, cycle to work schemes and company cars
  • Completion of month end reconciliations and submissions for allocated payrolls, including full payment submission to HMRC
  • Prepare and provide all relevant information to Auditors during annual audit process
  • Keep up to day with new payroll legislations and best practice methodology, in particular changes highlighted by the HMRC
  • Ensuring all data in the Payroll system is secure, backed up and fully compliant with the latest updates and legislations
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role
  • Previously worked in an Accountancy Practice or Payroll Bureau
  • You will be highly organised and be able to prioritise
  • Excellent attention to detail and timekeeping
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills along with being confident to communicate at all levels
