Warehouse Assistant

We are looking for a hardworking and efficient warehouse assistant, who can work as part of the Service Department team, under the guidance and supervision of the Warehouse Manager. Main responsibilities will be to deliver and collect goods as instructed and to identify, pick and pack goods for distribution.

What you will do:
To deliver and collect as instructed by the Company
Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed in timely manner
Ensure all goods are adequately packed to prevent damage during transportation
Advise if goods received are damaged
Advise of potential delays in achieving targets and deadlines
Identifying reorder requirements
Identifying opportunities to improve distribution
Maintains records and prepare reports as necessary
Promoting good verbal and written dialogue with internal and external contacts/users
Promoting good working practices and procedures
Ensuring minimal waste of resources and securing value for money
Ensure all returned equipment is clearly identified, recorded and communicated internally
Check tyres, brakes, lights, oil, water and fuel levels and the general condition of the vehicle daily
Assist with loading / unloading and ensure that loads are evenly distributed and secured safely
Drives vehicle to destination in accordance with daily schedule
Maintains records of journey times, mileage and hours worked
Attend training sessions where required in order to complete required skill set
Adheres to all Capita policies and procedures
To carry out responsibilities with due regard to the organisations Equality & Diversity policy

Working conditions:
Whilst doing this job the employee is occasionally exposed to:

Your experience will include:
Educated in / or experience of working in distribution
Clear Driving Licence
Health & Safety Awareness
Experience of working in distribution
Experience of working in and delivering excellent Customer Service
Able to efficiently use Microsoft Office programmes, such as Excel
A strong understanding of safety procedures
A good Team Player
Good attention to detail
Have a meticulous and efficient work ethic
Good Problem solving and problem analysis skills
Good attendance and time keeping
Ability to follow processes and procedure accurately
Have excellent numeracy, literacy and organisational skills

Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of the Managed Print Industry and manufacturer products
Educated to GCSE standard
