Applicants are invited for a research assistant position in an exciting research programme that aims to develop and test an artificial bladder replacement as a model treatment for patients with conditions characterised by functional or anatomical loss of the bladder. This position would suit a researcher with a background in tissue engineering. The post holder will be responsible for:
- Isolation and culture human epithelial cells.
- Culture and seeding of synthetic scaffolds with human cells
- Engraftment studies of neo-bladder replacements using in vivo models
- Coordination and reporting of research project
The post is funded for 5 months and is available from January 2018. Key Requirements
Experience of working in the field of bioengineering and/or tissue engineering is essential, though specific experience of working on the bladder is not.
Experience of working on multicenter studies would also be advantageous.
