Quality Controller

We are currently recruiting for a Quality Controller to be based in Wembley.

As a Quality Controller you will be responsible to ensure product and operational standards are maintained through Good Manufacturing Practice.

Key responsibilities

To monitor product quality along the production lines, including: bread quality / size, application of spread, quality / durability / weight and temperature checks of component raw materials and mixes, placement / distribution of raw materials, product cutting, packaging checks, labelling checks
To ensure the production line staff adhere to good manufacturing practice, including line clean downs / product change-overs / allergen control. Proactive attitude to fix problems before they occur and reactive to short notice incidents
To ensure mixes are produced as per specification and traceability is maintained throughout all paperwork. To also ensure that despatch operate as per procedure and that the operating environment is as required
To carry out start up checks on equipment such as the scales and metal detectors
To aid the quality assurance supervisors as required with their investigations of customer complaints
To investigate any non-conformances raised by the Technical manager / Quality assurance supervisors and report findings to the QA supervisor
To attend the quality panels, where required
To assist the Technical manager with preparation for audits, where required
Alert line managers and/or production managers to any problems, which may impact on their ability to carry out their duties
To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested and be flexible to the company requirements
To participate in training events and take responsibility for self-learning
Critically analyse all areas of processing and hygiene to improve site standards
To provide cover in the absence of the QA supervisor

This role is a full-time, working 45 hours per week. The shift pattern is 5 days over 7 and the working hours are from 9am to 6pm.

Passionate about Food!
Excellent time keeping and attendance
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
FMCG or Food manufacturing experience desirable
Able to work at pace in a pressurized, chilled environment
Able to approach a problem in a clear and logical manner
Good numerate and literate
Brilliant attention to detail
Proactive and highly organized
