The University of Manchester Location:
Applications are sought for a part-time Network Administrator to support an AHRC/GCRF-funded International Network entitled Racism and anti-racism in Brazil: the case of indigenous peoples, which will run from November 2017 - November 2019.
The purpose of the Network is to organise a series of three events (in Bahia, Braslia, and Manchester successively) to bring together the academic and non-academic partners (based in Manchester and Brazil), various indigenous leaders, artists, and representatives of indigenous communities to discuss the rise of racism against native populations in Brazil and ways to contain it and reverse it.
Your duties will include liaising with partners, planning events, making hotel and transport bookings, helping with the general organisation of events, collating relevant materials, managing the networks online presence, and assisting with publications. You will need excellent communication and time-management skills, basic research skills, the ability to work independently and flexibly, and native or near-native fluency in English and Portuguese.
As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as male candidates are currently under-represented at this level in this area, we would particularly welcome applications from men. All appointments will be made on merit.
