Their testing services facility covers chromatography (HPLC, GC, GCMS), Spectroscopy (UV-VIS and FTIR), metals & elemental analysis, dissolution testing, microbiology, and other techniques. Their facility uses stat of the art systems from leading manufacturers such as Thermo Fisher Scientific, Agilent Technologies, PerkinElmer, Shimadzu, Mettler Toledo and Anton Paar.
With a market leading presence, they now have an exciting opportunity to lead the business development team in the UK, as the Senior Manager Business Development.
Your primary responsibility is managing the organizations UK Business Development team, ensuring consistent and rapid growth in sales across all business service lines in the UK.
Oversight for the day-to-day management of the business development team in the UK. Ensuring that the business development function is adequately resourced to ensure that the overall annual sales targets are met.
Responsible for leading and mentoring a team of 2 Business Development Executives and 1 Project Manager.
You will manage a small number of key accounts, responsible for account development planning, involving the analysis of clients organisation and activities to assess the potential requirements that the clients may have for Biopharmaceutical Testing Services.
Responsible for identifying and winning new business opportunities with targeted pharmaceutical, biopharma and medical device companies, to achieve growth objectives within the UK.
The position is home office based anywhere in the UK, with expected travel up to 60%.
A scientific degree or equivalent experience is preferred for this role Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biopharmaceutical Sciences, Forensic Science, Analytical Chemistry, Analytical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or similar.
Sales experience to bio/pharmaceutical companies is essential laboratory services, equipment, consumables, etc.
Accomplished sales person with a proven track record of achieving and surpassing targets.
Leadership experience is desired, but not essential.
Excellent communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and relationship building skills are essential.
You may have experience as a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, Senior Business Development Executive, Senior Account Manager, Team Leader, Country Manager, Territory Manager, or similar.
