Team Leader - General Scrub

Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust is a ground breaking Teaching Trust with approximately 850 in-patient beds, employing around 7,000 staff and serving a population of approximately 220,000. The Trust is the leading Major Trauma Centre for Greater Manchester, the host of the Greater Manchester Neuroscience Centre, one of only two designated Intestinal Failure Units in the UK and one of the largest Dermatology Centres in Europe.

The trust has state-of-the-art theatre facilities and over the last 2 years a program to upgrade/refurbish the existing 19 theatres has commenced with full completion scheduled for 2019 when our facilities will be one of the most advanced theatre complex in the country.

As part of the Manchester Healthier Together, Salford will become a "hot" site for emergency surgery and high risk elective activity. As part of this development Salford Royal have embarked on a 47 million pound new build to ensure there are adequate facilities to deliver this service safely.

You will join the existing Band 7´s for Neurosurgery, Anaesthetic and Recovery Team Leaders with the Perioperative service.

You will have experience of working in a senior position and will be someone who is able to take a lead in driving forward improvements and managing change in the operating theatre.

As a Team Leader for the General Scrub Team you will need to be able to provide clinical leadership to support the evidence based patient centred care, which is of a high standard. They will take responsibility for the quality management of their designated areas, and provide senior departmental support, whilst working in a co-ordinating role for the department.

We are looking for a team member who can demonstrate excellent communication skills and demonstrate team working, with a high standard of organisational skills and the ability to work independently. You will be capable of making informed clinical decisions, often in complex situations. You will need to be particularly committed to the key role of educating, empowering and supporting people in the theatre environment showing excellent leadership and people management skills. In order to achieve this, you will be expected to work both managerial and clinical as part of your role.
