We are recruiting for an experienced Emergency Planning/Business Continuity professional to join our Resilience Team, and support the continued development of Resilience across the organisation, ensuing effective response to emergencies minimising disruption to public transport and other business critical activities.
TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects, and it’s our experts who provide the information and analysis to shape transport strategy. This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.
You will have knowledge and experience of emergency and business continuity planning and of the relevant statutory frameworks. You will have well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external parties such as Greater Manchester Police and Combined Authority partners, in order to influence a variety of stakeholders.
You’ll play a visible role in supporting the organisation’s Incident Response activities therefore an ability to remain focused delivering pragmatic solutions under pressure along with strong communication skills are essential.
You should be prepared to undertake security vetting, work flexibly and participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.
