About the role:
The role of a Bank Support Worker with Affinity Trust involves supporting each person to live the life they want within their community, to build positive relationships and to reach their potential.

You need to be positive and committed to supporting people and improving peoples lives. It is hard work but amazingly rewarding and to reach your full potential in this role you need to have the right values in working with people and being part of a team.
Good communication, having a flexible approach, being able to listen and come up new ideas and to support people to plan and to achieve their goals are all essential parts of the role.
You will be willing to learn and try new things, through both training and team work.

All of the People we Support have a learning disability but many have associated health needs, dementia, physical disabilities, profound and multiple learning disability, mental health needs or behaviours that may challenge.
They require assistance with Personal Care, Household Chores, Meal Preparation, Leisure Activities, Social Inclusion and maintaining Health and well-being.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, complex needs, Mental Health needs and potentially behaviours that may challenge.

All our Bank Support Workers complete shadow shifts before working with the people we support and those that have not previously worked in care will be supported with completing the Care Certificate.
Being able to drive would be an advantage but not an essential requirement.
