About the role:
The role of a Bank Support Worker with Affinity Trust involves supporting each person to live the life they want within their community, to build positive relationships and to reach their potential.

About you:
You need to be positive and committed to supporting people and improving peoples lives. It is hard work but amazingly rewarding and to reach your full potential in this role you need to have the right values in working with people and being part of a team.

Good communication, having a flexible approach, being able to listen and come up new ideas and to support people to plan and to achieve their goals are all essential parts of the role.

You will be willing to learn and try new things, through both training and team work.

We want you to have all the skills you need to support people in the best way possible so we provide all the training you need to do this. We will pay for all required courses and for you to attend all the required training.

The role:
All of the People we Support have a learning disability but many have associated health needs, dementia, physical disabilities, profound and multiple learning disability, mental health needs or behaviours that may challenge.

They require assistance with Personal Care, Household Chores, Meal Preparation, Leisure Activities, Social Inclusion and maintaining Health and well-being.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, complex needs, Mental Health needs and potentially behaviours that may challenge.

Support work offers you a chance to make a genuine difference to peoples lives and no day will be the same!

If you have experienced supporting people through particularly challenging periods in their lives this may be the perfect role for you!

All our Bank Support Workers complete shadow shifts before working with the people we support and those that have not previously worked in care will be supported with completing the Care Certificate.

Being able to drive would be an advantage but not an essential requirement.
