We are seeking a motivated and creative post-doctoral researcher to work on the isolation of ovine monoclonal antibodies targeting the Blue Tongue Virus (BTV). The work is part of a large international project funded by a European Union Horizon 2020 grant. The successful candidate will work with Professor Jonathan Ball and will focus on the analysis of the antibody response elicited by novel BTV vaccine candidates being developed and trialled in partner laboratories. The successful candidate will also work closely with colleagues in the School Of Veterinary Medicine and Sciences to characterise the specificity and neutralising potency of isolated monoclonal antibodies.
Candidates must hold, or be near to completion of, a PhD or equivalent in virology. It is also essential that they can demonstrate relevant skills including molecular biology, next generation sequence analysis and cell and virus culture.
This position is based on a full time, fixed-term contract for a period of two years. Applications for job share will be accepted.
