Supply Chain Development Officer, Nottingham, £30,000
A UK based manufacturer which is the largest of its kind in Europe having installed over 12,000 items of equipment in more than 90 countries.
Established for more than 30 years, the company began by making the first units in and around the homes of the partners. They then went from strength to strength, increasing production year on year and are now based in a 35,000sqft unit with a workforce of 50 with the founding directors still working full time!
Significant investment in state of the art production machinery, a new manufacturing facility alongside a committed and enthusiastic, workforce makes the factory a hive of activity. Computerised systems being incorporated into almost all of the machinery, with a PLC control system at the heart, ensures delivery of optimum equipment and production solutions, again and again.
Your role in this organisation would be to work alongside Senior Management being responsible for successful implementation of operating systems within the supply chain function.
You would have planning and control of all of processes that link partners in a supply chain together aiming to serve the best needs of the end customer.
You would be supported in maintaining efficient stock level management using Kanban and VMI and given the opportunity to implement an agile and responsive supply chain function.
You would excel in actively seeking and implementing improvements in the supply chain function which deliver cost savings or operational improvements as well as taking responsibility for contract negotiations with major suppliers in the development of Service Level Agreements.
To be considered for the position you must be a Graduate with an engineering background .
You must have the ability to communicate effectively, able to negotiate with suppliers, have confidence in presenting supplier information and have experience of delivering world class supply chain performance measure improvements.
It would be beneficial for you have Lean/six sigma (green belt preferable) or contemporary manufacturing experience but not essential.
