A blue chip business in Sheffield are seeking a Procurement Manager to lead a generalist spend portfolio to deliver cashable savings and VFM.
Key contributor to the development of the category strategies which aligns with business strategy.
Key contributor to the conversion of the strategy into an integrated procurement plan underpinned by robust business planning and overall strategic plans
To lead procurement plans appropriate to the sub category to deliver maximum commercial advantage, including selection and application of the most favourable procurement processes for a particular product and/or service.
Interface with the relevant internal stakeholders and interlock of objectives, ensuring an effective stakeholder engagement plan.
To establish and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the category, market and suppliers operating in the category, ensuring effective relationships exist with senior levels within supplier organisations.
To lead complex procurement negotiations in the business and externally with Suppliers.
To develop and co-ordinate a virtual team across Procurement, including key members of the relevant business units, to deliver the procurement and business needs of the deal
Translate business needs into meaningful requirements for negotiating effective supply contracts.
People Management to support the business requirements.

The Successful Applicant
Commercial Awareness - keep the business drivers and customer impact at the heart of our sourcing recommendations to ensure that we deliver the business objectives on time, cost and quality. Would be required to have or be working towards CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply) qualifications.
Market Insight - develop a wide understanding and insight into the key drivers
Contract Awareness - ability to draft and negotiate contracts liaising with legal and technical experts. The role requires the ability to work within the governance boundaries and produce legally binding supplier contracts
Stakeholder Management - ability to work with and influence a diverse set of stakeholders up to and including General Manager and Director level.
Analytical - to own the procurement sub-category and lead sourcing projects with multiple vendors to determine the best deal and agree the best supply terms to meet the business objectives and identify innovative opportunities to drive commercial benefit.
Negotiation - proven track record demonstrating the ability to plan and lead negotiations with suppliers engaging subject matter experts where appropriate, e.g. technical experts, legal, finance etc
