Water Merlins Swim School are looking for qualified Level 2 swimming teachers to join our team and help us continue providing the highest quality swimming lessons for children of all ages and abilities.

Our Swimming Lessons run Monday - Friday evenings 4.30-7.30pm and Saturday Mornings 8am12pm, We are looking for someone to work between 10-15 hours per week.

We provide a quality programme taught using the ASA Learn to Swim Framework, Small class sizes with assistants available for the lower stages. Technology to help improve the standards of delivery and parent communication.

Teachers must hold a Level 2 teaching qualification, As a desirable aspect if you could hold a NRASTC or NPLQ, however these can be arranged by us if you havent already got them. A DBS check will be required upon job acceptance.

Job Description Water Merlins Swimming Teacher Purpose of Job: To deliver lessons which motivate, educate and encourage adults and children of varying abilities Reporting to: Operations Manager Key Responsibilities

  • To plan and deliver lessons at Water Merlins Swim School, ensuring adherence to the lesson plans.
  • Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly and to operate within Health & Safety guidelines and undertake risk assessments.
  • For the duration of the lesson to instruct, provide feedback and encouragement to all participants
  • To welcome all participants in a professional and friendly manner.
  • To prepare effectively for sessions.
  • To log and report any incidents/accidents or any other concerns to the operations manager.
  • Attend regular training and updates (Compulsory).
  • Communicate with swimmers and parents of all swimmers updating them on progress and development via the home portal by keeping assessments up to date.
  • Report any safety concerns or health and safety issues to the Operations Manager.

General Duties

  • To arrive in good time before the lesson start time and to ensure facilities are set up appropriately.
  • To ensure the lesson programs are safe and appropriate to the needs/abilities of the participants involved and provide supervision and assistance to all participants.
  • Recognise your key role in the development of sales
  • Present and conduct yourself in an appropriate manner with courtesy and regard for others.
  • Arrange cover for any planned absence and inform the operations manager of the changes in good time.
  • Wear Uniform provided for teaching both in and out of the water or when leaving or arriving on site.
  • Maintain your qualifications, ensuring they are up to date and relevant.
  • Attend team meeting training session /employee review sessions/ CPD courses as recommended.
