The role will encompass the responsibility to ensure that the plant is optimally supplied with purchased goods and services that align with quality, costs and delivery performance targets

The role will involve the following:

  • Ensuring that the plant is supplied with all external procurement contents relevant for the plant with respect to purchasing issues
  • Carrying out price and condition negotiations for all suppliers assigned within the context of the Supplier Management Assignment (SMA)
  • Initiating and advancing cost-reduction projects (plant-, project- and group-driven) within purchasing
  • Monitoring supplier evaluation, including communicating and calling for countermeasures
  • Contribute to the definition and execution of Plant Purchasing Strategy
  • Providing support for the selection, approval and development of new suppliers for the plant
  • Support for UK Purchasing Group Initiatives
  • Escalation according to the existing organizational structure
  • Negotiating and signing agreements according to the existing approval level in accordance with approval directive P170002
  • Approving order documents according to the existing approval level in accordance with approval directive P170002
  • Ownership & Control of Chemical Release Process
  • Sourcing and Negotiation of Investment items in line with group guidelines
  • Further developing processes and systems within plant purchasing
  • Structured Purchase Order Release via ME57 (NPM)
  • Escalation contact for supplier performance issues
  • Assisting with budget and forecast planning for all procurement volumes
  • Living the MOVE philosophy within plant purchasing and participating in corresponding workshops, training, projects, etc.
  • Updating purchasing reporting for the location
  • Processing workflows of invoices blocked for price reasons
  • Preparing, participating in and following up on audits
  • Ownership & Control of Chemical Release Process (NPM)
  • Plan workload in advance following a yearly cycle (Strategy, Negotiations)
  • Project Management for Savings projects
  • The nature of work varies each month depending on deadlines and supply base

Ideally candidates will be in possession of, the following skills/experience:

  • Ability to communicate confidently and present ideas, data, concepts in a coherent manner
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent; Business Studies, Economics or similar
  • Approximately 1-3 years experience is needed to perform the job at a competent level
  • Flexible, Holistic & cross-functional approach to Transparency, Trust & Teamwork
  • Proven experience of Purchasing, Category Management, Procurement
  • Experience of working in a multi-site environment (desirable) and the flexibility to adjust to workload priorities
  • High level Interpersonal and communication skills towards all stakeholders
  • Awareness of wider economic, legislative & Company issues and current/future impact on supply base
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload, maintain confidentiality, and produce/process documents accurately
  • Strong written and numerical skills
  • Advanced system knowledge of SAP_MM_PUR ideally
  • Competent IT Skills - Word, Excel, and SAP

The role is offered with the following perks and benefits:

  • A salary of £25.5k plus additional bonus scheme paid additional to salary £29.9k
