About the Role:

Choice Support is looking for staff with energy, imagination and a desire to support people to live fulfilled, independent lives. Qualifications and experience are not essential but the right values and a willingness to learn are.

We are looking for Waking Night Staff to support a 23year old lady who has a Learning Disability, Autism and severe anxiety. She lives in her own home in Sheffield, close to family and the area in which she grew up. This young lady has a mischievous sense of humour, she loves to laugh with the people she is close to and people genuinely enjoy spending time with her. She enjoys singing, dancing, gardening, swimming, cycling, walking and going out on trips in her mobility car. She likes to be occupied, reading writing, doing crafts or on the computer. She has lots of potential and is intelligent but needs help with self-regulation. Those supporting her need to respond positively in order to provide a calm and supportive approach and to prevent escalation of anxieties.

About You:

You need to have previous experience of support work, but what is more important is that you are confident and able to manage challenges. You will need a good sense of humour, patience and be able to communicate with clear and direct language. You must be resilient and willing to support in what can be difficult situations.
