Pharmacy Technician

This is a permanent full time role to work 37.5 hours per week to cover long day shifts from 06:45 til 20:15 Monday to Sunday.

The role requires to work across 7 days a week on rotational basis including weekends and Bank holidays.

The salary is upto £25,000 per annum dependent on the experience.

HMP YOI New Hall is a closed female local prison which holds, adult female prisoners of all categories and Young Offenders and Juveniles on Detention and Training Orders. The prison is located in the village of Flockton (near Wakefield) in West Yorkshire, England.

About the Job:
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high quality prison pharmaceutical service within the Care UK cluster of prisons based on National (Divisional) policies supported with local standard operating protocols, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.

The post holder will be required to support the delivery of Pharmacy Services which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison services needs. The Pharmacy Technician will be an integral member of the Pharmacy Team, who forms part of the wider cluster of Healthcare Services. You can expect to be involved in everything from medicine management, dispense medications, screening drug charts, patient counselling etc.

The post holder may be required to accept certain activities in relation to the day to day operational management of their unit and as such must ensure that they are trained and competent to take on these additional responsibilities. The Pharmacy Technician may be required to take on a role of working across multiple Pharmacy Services if and when required.

The Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent qualifications and have a current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. They will also have relevant post-qualification experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.

Salary & Benefits:
The salary is between £21,000 - £25,000 per annum dependent on the experience.
