Corporate Procurement Manager

Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain is currently recruiting for an experienced Corporate Procurement Manager for a large public organisation. The client is located in the Wakefield area and offers the opportunity to lead an established central procurement function.

The successful candidate will have experience of leading structured procurement processes, including tendering, stakeholder management, contract development and award, and supplier relationship management. You will have a background in broad services based spend, and ideally with construction or facilities based categories. You must have an excellent understanding of procurement contracts and working as an internal consultant to the business, guiding departments through effective procurement processes and mitigating risk.

It is essential that all applicants are able to demonstrate a proven track record of engaging effectively with internal stakeholders, negotiating cost and contract terms, and delivering cost down whilst avoiding supplier risk in a range of high value and complex contracts.

You will lead a team of experienced procurement specialists, ensuring their development, team resource and providing the strategic vision and direction for the department, whilst also taking a hands on involvement in key suppliers and procurement projects .

Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain would be keen to speak with candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of sourcing, and strategically managing suppliers.
  • Broad indirect/services based experience, ideally including construction or facilities.
  • Track record of managing teams and developing team strategy.
  • Contracts, governance, and ideally ERP/Procure 2 Pay development.
  • Experience in public or not for profit business would be an advantage.
  • Stakeholder management, influencing, and team working skills.
  • Degree level and MCIPS qualification.
