Up to £9 per hour dependent on experience

PLEASE NOTE:

This role will suit a Chef/Cook looking for a challenge but a better work life balance.

The hours of work for this role are daytime hours, generally 8.30am-5.30pm. There are no split shifts and at present no evenings planned, although there is provision in the future to open once or twice a month.

We are open every day serving top quality barista style coffee, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and a good list of daily specials.

As part of our expansion programme we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Chef/Cook to join our kitchen team and assist the Head Chef with the day to day running of the kitchen.

The position will be five days a week, including Bank Holidays and at least one day of the weekend, working approximately 40 hours per week.

All candidates should be friendly, reliable, hard working, self motivated and have a sense of humour.

The main duties of the role include: -

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, washing salad, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Ensure appropriate levels of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in the kitchen
  • Answer, report and follow the Head Chefs instructions
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and on time
  • Stock control

Skills/ Experience required for the role: -

  • Previous experience working in a kitchen providing meals for large numbers
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industrys best practices
  • Basic Food Hygiene certificate
  • Knowledge of HACCP
